Start an Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance on Your Campus!spacer

There are hundreds of Feminist Majority Leadership Alliances (FMLAs) and affiliated student groups across the country. Check if there is one on your campus! If you want to start an FMLA or would like to affiliate an existing group with the Feminist Majority Foundation's Choices Campus Leadership Program, just email campusteam@feminist.org to get started.

About the Choices Campus Leadership Program

FMLAs are student groups fighting for equality and effecting change at every level of society. Through the Choices Campus Leadership Program, FMLAs and affiliated campus groups are given opportunities to learn about pertinent feminist issues, develop leadership and organizing skills, improve their campuses and communities, and connect with a nationwide feminist movement.

All FMLAs are committed to a set of feminist principles that include gender equality, civil rights, GLBTQ rights and legal, safe and affordable access to abortion and contraception. All feminists are welcome to be a part of FMLAs regardless of gender, race, religion, sexual identity or political affiliation.

Benefits of Affiliation

Each FMLA has access to a full-time National Campus Organizer and FMF materials to help them organize on campus and reach out to their community. They are also invited to participate in FMF conferences and the Feminist Campus social networking community.

Other campus groups can have access to all the resources of the Choices Campus Leadership Program by affiliating with the Feminist Majority Foundation.

Your Commitment to FMF

Your group's commitment is your continued activism on campus. We do ask all FMLAs and affiliated student groups to fill out short end-of-semester reports each semester, and to check in with us periodically so we can continue to offer you support and celebrate your successes.

There are no membership dues and our Choices Campus Leadership Program is entirely free. Some individual student organizations may decide to charge dues to help pay for events (especially if they do not receive student government or department funding), however, there is no requirement by FMF to do so. You will never be required to attend, fundraise or donate to FMF events in order to benefit from your affiliation.

Your group can choose to keep its name and still be affiliated. Some new and most existing groups choose to keep their names. Campus Organizers will work with both FMLAs and affiliated groups.

Stay Connected

As an affiliate of the campus program, your group members and leadership can receive emails, action alerts, conference and event updates and eZines to stay abreast of current feminist issues and actions on campuses across the country. Sign up here. The National Campus Organizers also serve as a resource to your group, and can be reached via email at any time.

You can also find us on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and our Campus Choices Blog, which is updated daily with feminist commentary on news, pop culture, politics, and media. We also encourage students to write “guest posts” for the blog (interested writers can contact campusteam@feminist.org). We use these tools to communicate with student activists and be a part of the larger online feminist community, so all are welcome to join in!
