Louis Vuitton Press Animals
June 2nd, 2011Chameleon Visual takes me under their wing again as I make some larger and more exciting bag animals for Louis Vuitton.
These new critters were designed for the launch of Louis Vuitton’s Mon Monogram service for small leather goods. Each animal highlights an element in the design of the products. The Armadillo was to highlight the soft yet durable quality of the leather. The Chameleon displays the variety of colour. The Grasshopper is constructed from products with zips and poppers that make satisfying noises like that of the musically gifted insect. And finally my favorite, the Beaver, who’s functionality chops wood, builds dams…and provides cleaver ways of organising ones life in men’s bags and wallets.

Interview in Greek Vogue
June 2nd, 2011MY FIRST INTERVIEW! And it’s in GREEK Vogue, my grandmother would be so proud….unfortunately neither myself or anyone in my family can read Greek anymore, so I’ll never know what it says. But it’s wonderfully exciting non the less.
The interview is out now in June 2011′s Vogue Hellas, and for those of you who do read Greek, there’s a high resolution PDF here.

Origami Flowers
March 3rd, 2011
A fun commission from Chameleon Visual for Starwood’s new Leicester Square W Hotel.
I’ve been ‘playing around’ with origami since my Dad bought be a book on it when I was very small, Steve and Megumi Biddle’s ‘Step-by-step Origami’, it has by far the best instructions I’ve ever come across.

Giant Shoes
March 3rd, 2011
A really fun job for Blind Summit, some giant woman’s shoes for Royal Academy Opera’s premier production of ‘Kommilitonen.’ Carved from poly-foam, each shoe was 60cm from heal to toe.
‘Kommilitonen’ is performing at Sir Jack Lyons Theatre from the 18th March 2011.

Boy – Body Puppet
March 3rd, 2011
Another commission from Jay Green of Bedales School in Petersfield. My brief was to design and build a puppet of a young boy to be puppeteered by one person alone.
When I was researching for Jay’s earlier Commission of Pacino I came across an excellent boy puppet by Mary Robinette on you tube. This was the inspiration behind my boy puppet, which combined Mary Robinette’s puppeteering technique with puppet making techniques I had learned at Blind Summit.
The Boy was used in Jay Greens production of Shakespeare’s Midsummer’s Nights Dream at The Olivier Theatre in Bedales School, winter, 2010.
