Enjoying Postcards Through Education and Entertainment
spacer The Lancaster County (PA) Postcard Club, founded in January 1990, has approximately 150 members who share a common interest in collecting and in the history of postcards, including local, national, and foreign views, and topical postcards, such as holiday cards.

MEETINGS & MEMBERSHIP
The Lancaster County Postcard Club meets the 3rd Monday of each month and is open to the public with 30-50 members in attendance. There is no cost for admission. From four to ten member/dealers are usually set up at 5 p.m. The membership and the public are invited to buy or trade. In June, the club hosts a picnic; in December, there is an annual Christmas potluck dinner.

A brief business meeting begins at 7 p.m. Postcard competition follows. For this competition, members present a single card or a poster board of several cards on a specific theme. The people in attendance study the cards and vote for their favorites. This monthly competition is open to all members and is a way of showing different postcards from private collections. There is a small monetary prize for first, second and third place winners.

After a short break, there is a program, usually a speaker presenting some facet of postcard collecting. Local history or unique postcards are the most frequent topics of the monthly programs.

Upcoming programs include:
