SD FIRST LEGO League Championship Set for Feb. 25

More than 500 students from 62 teams across South Dakota will compete in the third annual South Dakota FIRST® LEGO® League Championship on Saturday, Feb. 25, in the Elmen Center. The event will feature a special video tribute to Dr. Dan Swets, Kevin Anderson and Joshua Lambrecht, League leaders who were killed in a plane crash late last year.

Friday, February 3, 2012 Third-grade teacher Heather Hemeyer, class of 2008, isn’t just teaching math, reading and spelling at St. Joseph’s Indian School in Chamberlain, S.D. She’s teaching children the skills they need to build a better tomorrow. She's also furthering her own education with Augustana’s Master of Arts in Education Online Degree Program.

February 1, 2012 - March 3, 2012 The Eide/Dalrymple features Sioux Falls artist Linda Ackland-Kolb's unique pastel pigment on beeswax ground pieces in "Earth's Forces on Wax and Other Images," on display Feb. 1-March 3. A Gallery Reception and Artist's Talk are scheduled for Friday, Feb. 10.

February 11, 2012 High school juniors and seniors, and their parents, are invited to join us for our Game Day visit. The event will include an overview of academic and student life, a campus tour, pre-game pizza, and tickets to the Augustana Men’s and Women’s Basketball double-header against U-Mary. You’ll gain some insight and take in some action.

Feb. 17-19: 32nd Annual Artists of the Plains Show and Sale
February 17, 2012 - February 19, 2012 Sponsored by the Center for Western Studies, the show will feature works by 22 local and regional artists including JoAnne Bird, Chris Francis, Gisele Robinson and others. The show is free and open to the public and will be held at the Holiday Inn City Centre in downtown Sioux Falls.
