Welcome to Steam Crow

Hello there!

Steam Crow makes monsters!

We draw monsters, invent their stories, and make products based on them. We’ve been creating monsters for years, but in 2005 my wife Dawna suggested that we could illustrate and create our very own book of monsters, Monster Commute. Now, six years later, Daniel is making a living at it.

Read our full story, have a look at our monster goods, and thanks for stopping buy!

All this talk about 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons made me harken back to the good ole days, when I’d pine over my most prized possessions: my 1st edition AD&D books. I LOVED the illustrations and art in these things; David Trampier (DAT), Erol Otis, Stephen Fabien (in some later Read more »

So, a few pals and I got chatting on Twitter, and decided that Pirates, Zombies, and Ninjas were kinda too old for memes on the interwebs. So, somebody tossed out VIKINGS (which I dig) and I tossed out NARWHALS which I think are the unicorns of the sea. A few Read more »

Here’s another monster/horror/book inspired print; the Legend of Sleepy Hollow, by Washington Irving. The Headless Horseman marks another iconic villain that I’ve been wanting to illustrate for a while. I also like drawing these gangly-legged horses for some reason. And yeah, I’ll draw a jack-o-lantern for any reason whatsoever. You Read more »
