Nutrition Resources

Friday, February 10th, 2012

What do we eat? How do we prepare it? How do I get started?

Here are a few good links for meal ideas, nutritional information, and food choices.
The foodee project
Everyday Paleo
Mark’s Daily Apple
The Whole 9

These are some resources that will give you some ideas you can implement in your program. If you have more questions, let us know and we can help.

Today’s workout.

Thrusters 65/45 25-20-15-10
Double Unders 100-75-50-25

And finally, go and register for the Jump Rope seminar scheduled for Sunday from 9am to 11am at the Ouray School Gym. Some of our buddies from Durango and Telluride are coming for the fun as well. If you are tired of not having double unders or even triple unders, spend your $40 and learn a new skill, or hone a skill you already have. Register here, NOW.

And to state the obvious, we will not be having our regularly scheduled class Sunday as we will be getting our Jump Rope on. See you Sunday.

Broken Angie

Thursday, February 9th, 2012

A little different, but the same number of reps. Interesting as we all saw. We last did this in December, 2010. Did you improve? Probably Aimee picked up almost eight minutes, and Parker got a measly two and one half minutes.

Five rounds for time:
20 pull ups
20 push ups
20 sit ups
20 squats

And this stylish pose was struck after a “band incident.” Be careful out there.spacer

Rest Day…Ski Day…Ice Climbing Day…Snowshoe Day…

Wednesday, February 8th, 2012

You get the idea. It’s a rest day from our strength and conditioning program, but look around at where we live. Are you using your conditioning for fun and play? If not, consider trying a new sport or new playground activity.

Don’t forget to sign up for our Jump Rope seminar with Molly Metz and her team. Do it now and do it here.

Two other things to consider on our rest day. Are you signed up for the CrossFit Games? You need to sign up now. And we need a team. Sign up now, here.

And the teaser…We are doing a 24-hour long workout on March 10, 2012. It will be…24 hours long. This workout is the first and only test run for a series that may be the start of something really big and really fun. If you are interested, you need to let us know now as we are severely limiting participation this time. We have a note on the board and we must know who is participating.

Take the leap. It’s only 24 hours out of your entire life.

Oh what fun it is to…

Wednesday, February 8th, 2012

…PR again. Holy cow we had a lot of them today on the Press. Everyone is getting strong and our form is improving as well. Great work and great focus by everyone.

We are two days into our nutrition challenge. Are you signed up and on the program? What is the program? See this post and read all about it. We are improving our performance by improving our fuel. If you haven’t done this before, consider giving it a try. If you have participated in one of our previous challenges, you know the benefits of the focus of this effort when you dial in your food. Get on board. If you have any questions, please ask us.

And now is your chance to learn double unders if you don’t already have them. Molly Metz and her team from JumpNRope will be here Sunday at 9 am. Our regular class is cancelled and we will be at the Ouray School gym getting our groove on. You must sign up for the class and pay Molly direct for the seminar. Don’t have any more excuses for not having double unders.
