TuckDB’s New Sister Site: TuckDB Ephemera
We are happy to announce a new website TuckDB Ephemera. TuckDB Ephemera is the sister site of TuckDB. While the original TuckDB lists antique postcard published by Raphael Tuck and Sons, TuckDB Ephemera is for everything else: puzzles, books, toys, china, and much more.
Unlike TuckDB Postcards we are starting the database from scratch. There are already 1800+ items uploaded with high quality images. Here are a few highlights:
- HANS ANDERSON FAIRY TALES
- NURSERY RHYMES
- OUR FATHER WHICH ART IN HEAVEN HALLOWED BE THY NAME
- WE’RE ALL IN IT BILLY & JOAN PUT ON UNIFORM
Everything on TuckDB Ephemera is free. We do not sell antique ephemera.
A special thanks to Alison Milling and Richard Moulton for making this site possible.
Launching the Public Beta
TuckDB is the first on-line database of Raphael Tuck & Sons postcards. We are happy to announce the public beta and open the site to the general public. The website remains very much a work in progress with many listings incomplete. Instead of waiting we have decided to open the site now to solicit feedback from the Tuck postcard collecting community.
The Current Listings
The Americas is the first edited tag in our listings. We are beginning an editing sweep of the remaining cards, completing it will take years.
Scanning Postcards
We have several helpers scanning postcards & have finished this first edition of The Americas which represents about 10% of the total scanning.
The Future
During this beta our postcards scanners will continue to scan and upload postcards. The next focus will probably be on The Tuck Postcards of Lance Thackeray.
For those collectors interested in contributing to the database we are considering allowing everybody to edit postcards and upload pictures. If you are interested please send us some feedback
