Alexander Wang Happenings {a fantastic spring line & the very exciting newly released objects}
I love the sports wear chic thing going on with the Alexander Wang Spring line. The dresses are super sexy and wearable. I wish I could fund them all (or one for that matter). In addition, I am really excited about the new Alexander Wang “objects.” Sold exclusively on the Wang website and in Wang stores is his “objects” collection, which consists of miscellanies like an ashtray, lighter, bike lock and more. They’re so awesome. Check em out. P.s. His show is tomorrow night. Good luck!
Valentine’s Day Approaches {with a valentine or without one, here are plenty of excuses to use on the 14th}
Either get it for your sweetie, or get it for yourself. Dominique Ansel Bakery on Spring Street between Sullivan and Thompson is the best. All that you see above exists. You’re wondering what the mysterious goodie is in the middle? It is a “Perfect Little Egg Sandwich.” Aka a small brioche with creamy scrambled eggs and gruyere. The “Gâteau Battu” on the left is almost like a popover (amazing) and on the right is chocolate croissant, of course. Go there now. And for the garments. I love red anytime. From the top left: Marc by Marc Jacobs Tote $530, A.P.C. Gingham Sailor Top $235, Miu Miu Leather Brogues $510. Bottom from the left: Alexander Wang Crepe de Chine Dress $450, Stella McCartney Wool Jumpsuit $1,245, Isabel Marant Drop Earrings $95 & Alexander Wang Trimmed Glossed Jacket $745. All SO good.
The Face of Pico Means Little & Frank Lloyd Wright Collection Jewelry {new website has been launched check it out}
The Pico Means Little new website has officially launched. What fantastic architectural jewelry. Proud to be the face of it! If you don’t know about Pico, check out the site: www.picomeanslittle.com. Designer Andrea Pico is based out of my hometown in Montclair, NJ but sells her jewelry across the country. You might know her as the designer for the Frank Lloyd Wright Collection jewelry, which is available at the Guggenheim Museum here in the city. Don’t let it pass you by.
New Spring Attire & West Village Happenings {all A.P.C.}
Absolutely love everything about the spring APC collection. Finally picked out all the pieces I need (and you need too). From the top left: Porsellis ballet flats, striped cap sleeve pullover, raw denim skirt, (the BEST) camo jacket, my New Standard raw jeans, striped merino wool pullover & horsehide boots. Such a good collection. Where can you buy it all you may ask? APC.fr is all stocked up on the new merch, but if you are in the city, you can also swing by our Mercer St location (between Prince and Spring Sts). Buuuuuut. The West 4th location is finally opening! February 9th is the tentative (but most definite) day it will open. Our other West Village location (92 Perry St) has officially turned into a Surplus store. This means it carries last years collection of the current season at 50% off. Check it ooooout. No disappointments from A.P.C. As usual.
Céline Céline Céline {in the news & on madison avenue, give me money to buy the poppy shopper}
Céline is everywhere. Her shopper permeates the streets and her look is just too good. She’s even in the news. This season Phoebe Philo will not be showing a Céline collection on the runway. I give her a lot of credit. She is expecting a baby in April, therefore giving an informational presentation instead of a show. I hope the media can understand that there is more to life than fashion. In addition, the Madison Avenue Céline store opened today. I didn’t make it over there but I will in the near future. That is for sure. If I had a lot of money, I’d blow it on Céline. So buy me something in the mean time.
Pre Spring & Spring Shoes {boots and sneaks by all the faves: marant, apc, marginal, acne, wang & chloe}
I have had a serious thing for shoes lately. This pre-spring and spring I am all about heeled ankle boots and sneakers. Super versatile and will even work through the summer. Here are my choices. From the top photo down: Isabel Marant Dicker Boots $580, Maison Martin Margiela Brushed-Suede Boots $955, A.P.C. Classic Boots $530 & Acne Pistol Boots $570. And for the sneaks (bottom): Alexander Wang Dillon Sneakers $385, Isabel Marant Betty Leather Sneakers $680, Chloé Leather Trimmed Sneaker $545 & Lanvin Suede and Shearling Sneaker $650. All available on Netaporter. Get em.
Menswear Fall 2012 Coverage {thom browne cray & kenzo looking good}
Punks facing off jocks? Apparently this was the voice behind Thom Browne’s Fall 2012 Menswear collection. You gotta hand it to him for always pulling out all the best tricks and creating truly original collections. This is the way fashion shows are supposed to be: shows. I give Browne many props. In a completely different sense, I loved Kenzo’s first Menswear collection. It was good. The French “RATP” car as a backdrop set the stage for a super cool show. While following a total Kenzo aesthetic, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim commenced their Menswear sector with a bang. Check it ooooout.
