Join us this week on Comics Coast To Coast as we talk with Don Ahe of the webcomic Road Apples Almanac
Road Apples Almanac is a comic strip about an otter named Aldous, his dog Shep and their journey together. It appears every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Looking for a peaceful life, where he and his dog Shep can pass away their days away from a hectic world and troublesome past, Aldous has purchased 800 acres of bush and old pasture. Using only a few of the acres to support a small flock of sheep, some chickens, and a modest garden, and saving the rest as buffer from the world and room to indulge a variety of interests, Aldous hopes to let go of his hectic past.
Also, a farm happens to be the perfect place to hide Doc, the rooster, who for reasons unknown, won’t leave Shep and the farmer alone.
Shep adores his master, but likes to tease and egg him on. He is insatiably hungry, due to a mishap years ago.

Episode 130 – The Matt Forcum Interview

Join us this week on Comics Coast To Coast as we talk to Matt Forcum of the webcomic Robot Beach
Most people don’t know this about me, but I am not supposed to be an animator. If you were to hop into a time machine and travel back in time to ask my grade school self what my career is going to be one day I will tell you that I am going to be a jet pilot. That, or a cartoonist.
So Why Robots? Why a Beach? Believe it or not, this comic started its life as a simple sketch I created two years ago while I was bored and on a lunch break. I sketched out a little robot and for some reason thought that he might look cute with a surfboard and flower print swim trunks. Something about that little sketch felt fresh and interesting. I knew I was on to something special.
