The president’s love life

By Sasha on Feb 3, 2012 in Community issues, Featured | 0 Comments

spacer I find it really distasteful how the President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III can talk (and joke) about his love life in the light of what’s happening in the country. I mean come on! So many issues need to be answered/addressed by the president I would like to think that he knew to brush off questions regarding his love life, not bask in it and act like he’s even kinikilig about it!

These are just some of the issues in the country right now…

  • There’s still those missing persons/casualties of typhoon Sendong in Iligan City and Cagayan de Oro City.
  • There’s the to-be-implemented K+12 Program by the Department of Education (DepEd) by this coming June 2012 (School Year 2012-2013) which I heard from my sister (who teaches in a Catholic School in Manila) is being protested by a lot of parents especially those with incoming Grade 6 kids.
  • There’s also the ongoing impeachment proceedings versus Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona.
  • Congressman Iggy Arroyo’s death. This should not have been a national issue but since he is tied up to the controversial Jose Pidal account…
  • And there’s still the cases against former President-now Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

So the Philippines has a bachelor president. So what?!? Sure, we have vested interest in who he might marry while serving as the Chief Executive of the country. But the guy is still getting to know women and dating them. We need not discuss it on national television and he need not act like a teenage boy in the brink of jumping into a relationship with his first love! Not to mention how his sister Kris Aquino couldn’t stop herself from declaring how nice the president looked together with the Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra who is also single like him! Ah these Aquinos!

Can you imagine the Korean TV host Grace Lee became a trending topic in Twitter for close to 2 days just because she is dating the president?!?

Unahin ba raw ang love life!!

Moving made easy. »

By Sasha on Feb 11, 2012 in Brain wave | 0 Comments

It’s the bright start of a whole new world, and with this comes the prospect of moving on to greater heights and wonderful achievements. At times, the responsibilites that life hands out to us requires us to shift out of our comfort zones in order to pursue our goals. A friend of mine recently got a promotion to move upstate, and she’s been in a flurry of activity ever since she received the wonderful news. Possibly one of the most time consuming and headache inducing task that she’s had to face so far would be packing everything up in preparation for the big move. It is at times and instances like these that contracting the services of a storage and moving company comes in handy. Having scoured high and low for an appropriate business, it was a joy when we were recommended to Uncle Bob’s Self Storage.

Under the services provided by this innovative company includes the flexible rental of storage space and even moving truck rentals that you could drive yourself without soliciting the help of professional movers which would no doubt be more costly. If you’re looking for some storage space to store your furniture, or business files and vehicles, the company provides storage facilities in over 150 cities spanning 25 states. The best thing is that rental is on a monthly basis and all you have to do to keep up the lease is to pay your rental fee at the start of each month, up until the day you’ve settled everything and no longer require the company’s services. It’s an easy, convenient way to store your stuff if you’re run out of storage space, or like my friend, you’re in the midst of a shift. Simple solutions, large spaces, everything made easy for your moving!

Finding topics to write about »

By Sasha on Feb 10, 2012 in Blogging in general | 0 Comments

As some of you may know, I have quite a number of blogs. I know that for other bloggers out there, it is hard to find a topic to write about, specially if you need one on a daily basis. So how do I manage to find topics to write about?

Let me share with you one thing I do to be able to post on ALL of my blogs… I find an inspiring photo like this…

…and then I write something about it!

It may be about a past experience, a dream of mine, a story about a friend or about life in general. The last one is the easiest to write about.

So the next time you struggle to write a blog entry, remember this: find a photo and use it as an inspiration!

Out with the old »

One of the things that the store owner wants to accomplish within the next few days is to throw out anything old school in his store. No more manual checkouts for the customers. The store owner bought a symbol barcode scanner and the whole POS system for his store and he already got himself an accountant to help him out with the whole financial side of the business.

These days businesses can use technology for convenience not only to their customers but also for accuracy in accounting for sales. One such tool is the POS system with barcode scanner. Use it to enhance your business.

Getting an unexpected gift »

By Sasha on Feb 1, 2012 in Brain wave | 0 Comments

Kat got an unexpected gift from one of her friends. It was a glass locket. Her friend was someone she hasn’t seen in a long time and when it asked for a meet up over dinner, she went and was surprised to learn the friend also invited another person they used to be close to. It was a reunion of sorts for the three of them. They spent dinner catching up and chatting about people they all know.

The other invited friend also got something. Kat didn’t see what it was but it’s also wrapped in a small box so it might be the same locket she got.

Indie music »

By Sasha on Feb 1, 2012 in Brain wave | 0 Comments

My cousin was talking to my brother about the presonus firebox. The former is involved with an indie band that is slowly making its way to mainstream music scene. I heard my cousin discussing how they are using their own money to buy musical instruments and equipment to record their songs. They are selling their CD album online and at places where they perform.

My cousin is asking us to support indie music specifically their album by telling everyone we know about them. And I will. They are good to tell the truth and I really want them to have more followers not only to become popular but also to earn enough to get their money back.

Ethics and Morals in Vector Marketing »

By Sasha on Feb 1, 2012 in Brain wave | 0 Comments

Established in 1981, Vector Marketing is a $200 million company with 350 offices in US and Canada. The vast majority of Vector Marketing representatives are hardworking college students which are given many career-enhancing opportunities, sometimes even earn college credit and a chance to make an above-average income.

Each year, Vector Marketing trains over 40,000 students across the country, allowing students to make business decisions, handle finances, and if they choose, to advance into management. Vector Marketing, along with many other companies, belongs to an organization called Direct Selling Association that is involved in direct sales to consumers. As such every member of the Direct Sales Association must agree to conform to its code of ethics, which is used to govern all business practices. Companies with unethical or illegal business practices cannot be members of the Direct Sales Association. Ethics is fundamentally defined as the morals of an individual, when a large group of individuals work together there are bound to be some more ethical people than others. However, as a collective Vector marketing is considered an ethical organization. Vector Marketing provides young people with the chance to run their own business handle the responsibility and learn from their mistakes. These types of opportunities are seldom given by a corporate organization. If issues do arise Vector marketing will go above and beyond to make things right again. You can contact the headquarters and give them a chance to resolve it.

Vector marketing is a great company to learn valuable skills and further your career advancement.

Less conspicuous »

By Sasha on Jan 27, 2012 in Brain wave | 0 Comments

Ted has this brilliant idea to wear a rubber necklace instead of gold or silver so that it will be less conspicuous especially when aboard a public vehicle. That way, those who don’t have any good stuff inside their minds will find you less appealing to their sticky hands.

It is actually a great idea. Wear something less conspicuous. Don’t bring anything that will attract the eyes of the criminal minds. This reminds me of an incident where my friend, her mom and her youngest brother were aboard a jeepney going to the mall. It was just a little past 12 noon when it happened. The jeepney had only five passengers including them. The guy in front of my friend suddenly brought out a knife and told her to give the gold necklace she’s wearing. The guy seeing hesitation in my friend’s eyes swung back and forth the knife he’s holding and my friend, her mom and her brother were so terrified that she immediately gave her necklace to the guy. He then asked the jeepney driver to stop and he alighted like nothing bad happened inside it.

Scary! So make sure you wear less conspicuous clothes and jewelry when you are going out of the house and will just ride a public vehicle.
