For new students in Orientation Group A, please report on Tuesday,
August 30th to the MMC campus at 221 East 71 Street at 8:45am as
previously instructed.
For new and Early transfer students in Orientation Group B, please
see the list below of Tuesday excursions hosted by MMC Peer Leaders.
You can select whichever trip you are interested in. All excursions,
unless otherwise noted begin at the 55th Street Residence Hall at the
time noted. Residential and Commuter students are both expected to
participate in at least two NYC excursions over the course of the week.

Excursions will leave from the 55th Street Residence
Hall at the time your event
is scheduled unless otherwise noted.
Each NYC
Excursion has a designated Peer Leader. You may attend NYC Excursions
with any PL.
NYC
Excursions can have up to 20 students. It will be first-come
first-served, so arrive early.
You are
required to attend two, but you can join as many as you want.
Each NYC
Excursion will leave 5 minutes after the scheduled event time. Meet the
Peer Leader in front of the 55th Street Residence Hall to join a NYC
Excursion.
Most NYC
Excursions are free, some have a fee. If you see a ($) next to the NYC
Excursion, please come prepared to pay for yourself. Also, if your
group needs to take the subway to reach your destination, please note
that you are responsible to pay for your own MetroCard.

UPDATE #2
Due to the likely closure of the NYC transportation system beginning
early Saturday afternoon, the Saturday Check-In to 55th Street
Residence Hall will continue as scheduled from 7 am to 2 pm, but
students should not plan to move in during the hurricane on Sunday or
Monday. Any questions regarding housing check-in should be
directed to the Office of Residence Life at 212-774-0740.
We have cancelled our planned Parent/Family Orientations and Receptions
originally scheduled for Saturday, August 27 at 5 pm and Sunday, August
28 at 2 pm. While this may inconvenience some families, health and
safety are paramount. Parents may attend the Orientation this
evening, Friday, August 26, 2011 at 5 pm or on Thursday, September 1,
2011 at 4 pm.
On Monday, August 29, 2011, the College's administrative offices will
be closed and all Orientation activities for the day are cancelled.
New Student Orientation activities will begin on Tuesday, August 30 at
8:45 am sharp for students assigned to Group A and on Wednesday, August
31 at 8:45 am sharp for those students in Group B. Groups
have been assigned based on your Learning Community
(LC). (Optional Breakfast will be served beginning
at 8am in the Commons on the 3rd floor of the Main building on Tuesday
and Wednesday.)
