Dropbox – Droid X Apps

by droidxapps on July 22, 2010

Bringing effortless sync between all your devices and computers, Dropbox is one of the best free Droid X Apps available on the Android market today. This app puts your mind at ease when it comes to syncing and backing-up your files. Dropbox is a hugely popular online service that offers 2GB of free storage in addition to paid plans for higher storage requirements. It acts as a seamless background syncing service that just sits on your computer and tracks specific folders for changes (you can configure these, or have a dedicated folder for this). If you drop a new file into such a folder, the file is automatically backed-up online and synced across to all your other computers and devices running the Dropbox application.

On installing the apps on your Droid X, you’ll be asked to either create a new account right from within the app or use an existing account. If you’re a new user to Dropbox, you’ll also need to install the Dropbox Desktop application. Once you’ve configured Dropbox on your computer as well as on your Droix X, any files you want can be synced immediately between the two. The files will also be available through an online interface. Dropbox also lets you easily share files with friends or family by creating a web link for the file – you can then email or text message the link to anyone you like. The interface and design is beautifully done and fits very well with Android’s native look-and-feel. A top Droid X app that will serve you well for both sync and backup solutions.
