Meadowlark

Meadowlark comes from my wish for an utterly wearable, handknit garment that I can wear year-round, even in the spring and summer months.

Worked in an easy lace pattern, Meadowlark is seamless, and features a T-back style for the ultimate in versatility. Wear it over a tee, a tank, a light dress – the choice is yours.

Here, I’ve used a laceweight yarn held doubled. Meadowlark will also work nicely with a single strand of light sport-weight yarn – just make sure your gauge matches!

Notes:
The vest begins by working a panel that becomes both the back and parts of the front. It’s shaped through the top of the “t” back. The fronts are worked one at a time, and knit onto the larger panel for stability, then joined at the top of the “t” back. Finally, attached i-cord is worked around the armholes and (optionally) along the front edges.

Instructions for working the lace pattern are provided in both charted and written format.

Gauge:
25 sts and 18 rows of Main Lace equal approx 5.5” wide and 3” tall after lightly blocking

Sizing:
S[M, L, XL, 2X]
This vest is designed to be unstructured, and so, fits a variety of sizes depending on your desired look. For a standard fit, pick the size closest to your actual bust measurement. For a slightly slimmer look, go down 2-3 inches from your actual size.

Please remember that obtaining the proper gauge is essential to achieving the right size, especially with lace. All sizing here is based upon a lightly blocked gauge – soaking the piece and laying flat to dry.
