Redistricting commission votes: Creates new map, same problems

The L.A. redistricting commission voted on 75 proposed changes to the council district map. Councilwoman Jan Perry, who's been vocal throughout the process, said gaining the USC campus doesn't make up for losing Downtown.

Founded by three coffee lovers and aficionados who claim it's their coffee that's handsome, this new coffee roaster and cafe is set to open in the next few weeks. They said their goal is to make coffee enjoyable and accessible to all.

Redistricting commission goes back to the drawing board for district map

The L.A. redistricting map was released last month to a flurry of public outrage and debate. Tomorrow, the commission will meet to vote on possible changes and begin the process of redrawing the council districts.

L.A. city workers planned on testing types of green paint this weekend on the Spring Street bike lane. Now, they say an unfavorable weather forecast has put this facelift on hold.

The original facade of Clifton's was unveiled today for the first time in about 50 years, kick-starting a new era for this woodsy Downtown favorite. Now begins the renovation process.

Maybe the new Downtown bike lanes won't be green after all.

That mile and a half of Spring Street turns out to be the most filmed stretch of street in town. Or rather, it was until about last November, when the green lane spoiled the shots that made Spring the perfect stand-in for Anytown, USA. It was the perfect street for car commercials, the perfect backdrop of stolid bank buildings, the perfect mix of marble columns and Art Deco spandrels, the perfect modern or 1920s downtown — until the wide green stripe appeared.
