About PADA

Portland Art Dealer’s Association (PADA) includes Portland’s principal art galleries, who maintain high standards of fine art while cultivating relationships with artists, collectors, museums, art institutions and schools. We serve as art ambassadors for the entire community. We present a diverse range of regionally and internationally recognized artists, from the Pacific Northwest to all pockets of the globe.

Twenty-four years ago, founding PADA members initiated First Thursday, a monthly art event in which galleries open new exhibitions of works by painters, sculptors, photographers and glass artists, as well as innovative conceptual works and site-specific installations. It has since become The Rose City’s most vibrant and active visual arts event, now coupled with the increasingly popular First Friday art walk. For more information, please click on the First Thursday tab.

PADA’s member galleries are peppered throughout the Greenest City in America’s bike- and streetcar-friendly neighborhoods, from the arts-rich Pearl District to boutique-y Nob Hill, to the burgeoning scene on the east side of the Willamette River. Portland is saturated with a deeply rooted DIY culture, a dense Indie-music scene, and an eclectic array of performing arts events that inhabit city parks and historic theatres. We suggest budgeting time to satisfy your palate at one of Portland’s celebrated “locavore” restaurants, abundant food carts, or brimming breweries.

Come see why The New York Times describes Portland as “dedicat(ed) to the things that really matter: hearty food and drink, cultural pursuits, days in the outdoors and evenings out with friends. It’s the good life…”

We hope to see you soon in our galleries!
