The INSME Secretariat is very pleased to celebrate the Eighth Anniversary of the INSME Association on February 17th !

The INSME Association is pleased to announce that the 8th INSME Annual Meeting on "Sustainable Growth with Innovation: Building Competitive SME Networks" will take place in Daejeon, Republic of Korea on May 22nd-25th 2012.

The event will be co-hosted by World Technopolis Association- WTA, Daejeon Metropolitan City, INNOBIZ Association and Daejeon Convention Center.

The 2012 edition of the INSME Annual Meeting will comprise the following international events:

-8th INSME Association General Assembly (INSME Members only)
-9th INSME Board meeting (Board Members only)
-International Thematic Roundtables
-International Conference
-INNOBIZ Global Forum (IGF), organized by the local partner INNOBIZ Association
-9th WTA Daejeon Hi-tech fair, organized by WTA

Please note that on Friday, May 25th will take place the INSME-UNESCO International Training Program: "Managing  the innovation-economy: challenges and opportunities for SMEs" jointly organized by INSME and UNESCO.

EIF Working Paper 2012/13:"Progress for  Microfinance in Europe”

This report, issued by the European Investment Fund (EIF), is the n.13  of EIF's Working Paper Series.
This working paper focuses on the European microfinance market and provides updated and additional information about the microfinance in Europe and current developments in the microfinance area.

Moreover, it gives insights into the intervention logic, rationale for EU support, and mandate development considerations of the EIF in this field.

spacer The International Technology Transfer Beijing Conference 2012 (ITTC 2012), will take place in Beijing, China on 26th - 27th March 2012. Organized by the International Technology Transfer Network (ITTN), the event holds the purpose of building a platform of international cooperation in technology transfer for overseas tech offer and Chinese tech request.

INSME  Members are welcomed to participate and they might give speeches in certain sections.

European Social Entrepreneurship Funds

spacer The European Commission has just published a proposed regulation on European social entrepreneurship funds which will introduce uniform requirements for the managers of collective investment undertakings that operate in this field.

The principal aim of this proposal is to provide support to the market for social businesses by improving the effectiveness of fundraising by investment funds that target these businesses.

Start up! The European Entrepreneurship Summit and EIT Entrepreneurship Awards

spacer The EIT Entrepreneurship Awards, is a contest organized by the European Institute of Innovation & Technology which will culminate in a day-long conference to be held on the 21st February 2012 in Brussels (Belgium).
The event will focus on how to unlock Europe's innovation potential and address the various challenges faced by European entrepreneurs.

The three winners of the EIT Awards 2012 will be announced at the awards ceremony followed by a gala dinner.
The day before the conference, the finalists will be invited to attend a training course on how to successfully present their businesses and prepare for their pitches at the conference.

€ 2.5 billions to boost business competitiveness and SMEs 2014 - 2020

spacer Promote access to finance and encouraging an entrepreneurial culture, including the creation of new enterprises are the core issues of the new financial support programme, tabled by the European Commission in Brussels on the 30th November 2011.

With a budget of € 2.5 billions over the period 2014-2020, the Programme for the Competitiveness of Enterprises and SMEs, COSME is a funding instrument, which is largely continuing the activities under the current Competitiveness and Innovation programme (CIP).
COSME shall contribute to the following general objectives, paying particular attention to the specific needs of SMEs at European and global level:
a) strengthening the competitiveness and sustainability of the Union’s enterprises including in the tourism sector;
b) encouraging an entrepreneurial culture and promoting the creation and growth of SMEs.
