Ivan Decker: So Much More Than Laserbeams

spacer

Ivan Decker is a stand up comedian based out of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He will be performing in GIANTS IV: EPIC SEX ED on February 18th. If you interested in learning about his fish-hand and his leaf-hand, visit our friends at Vancouver is Awesome.

Ivan Decker is the kind of guy who has a personal website. He’s also the kind of guy with a website where the sub-domain for every page is “\Laserbeams\”. That simple, hilariously unnecessary choice sums up Decker’s comedy pretty nicely. He finds ways to take on subjects that, at first, seem boring, dry and predictable. But he manages to infuse them with child-like glee. He approaches his jokes the same way, sprinkling hilarious magic into mundane explorations of his life in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

GIANTS IV: Cam Macleod and Colin Cowan in EPIC SEX ED

spacer

GIANTS IV Centrepieces Cam Macleod and Colin Cowan star in a brand new series of videos from Weekend Leisure.

The wizard and the minstrel are one of history’s greatest teams. Think about it. The wizard can do just about anything he wants (with magic, duh). But having all-powerful magic skills can’t fix loneliness. Enter the minstrel. Nothing cures the wizard blues like having your best bud around to serenade you with some sweet tunes. Medieval bros for life.

On February 18th, Cam Macleod and Colin Cowan are The Wizard and The Minstrel. Their quest is EPIC SEX ED. Tickets are available now (by clicking this link). The scoop on Cowan and Macleod is also available now (by clicking bellow).

Charles Demers: So Much More than a Hat Wearer

spacer

Charles Demers might be the man with the most hats in Vancouver.  From novelist to TV writer to activist to stand up comedian, Charles wears enough different hats to challenge Scot Fresseto for most worn at once (53).

For GIANTS III Charles will be sharing the stand up stylings that make him one of Vancouver’s best thespians-of-the-microphone.  Above you can watch the final installment of Ryan Beil, Classically Trained Actor’s Training DVD featuring Charles’ fine annunciations, and if you read on, well, there will be more on this funny, funny man. Unbuttoning Fancy Pants for GIANTS III

spacer

Five improvisers haven’t had this much fun together since the Manhattan Jazz Quintet recorded Funky Strut in 1991 (what an album!).

Tyler, Scott, Andrew, Lauren and Sarah are an improv group on a mission.  Specifically, a smile mission.  Coming to the GIANTS stage as one of the newest acts the show has seen, Fancy Pants nonetheless includes five performers who have been making very funny for years as individuals. Read More ⇒

Adam Pateman: Vancouver to New York to GIANTS III

spacer

GIANTS III guest Adam Pateman is a lot like the mythical hero of Greek antiquity, Odysseus.

They both worked to gain respect in their homelands (Adam Pateman: Vancouver, Odysseus: Ithaca), becoming pretty darn good in their chosen fields along the way (Adam Pateman: stand up comedy, Odysseus: being a king). They both left home to conquer a far away land (Adam Pateman: New York City, Odysseus: Troy) and after a series of adventures, returned home to kill the would-be-suitors of their queens. They’re basically the same person.

Self Quest: Ryan Beil’s Sweet Sixteen

spacer

Vancouver comedy fans know GIANTS III centerpiece, Ryan Beil, from his weekly performances with improv heartthrobs The Sunday Service. But Beil is also a dramatic actor (pronounced act-ooore) of the highest caliber.

It all started many years ago in a room in Lord Byng High School, most likely full of black ‘imagination cubes’ and covered in wall-to-wall speckled carpet. Drama class. That special place where young minds search for the purest expression of the human condition…or at least a ‘skipable 3rd period’. Occasionally, in that strange adolescent melting pot of nerds, creatively repressed bullies and marginally talented ‘hot girls’, a student with real dramatic potential will come along. Ryan Beil was that student.
