So I’m Jim Murphy and this is “My Facebook” if you will.  It’s where I choose to let it all hang out – in the form of a blog. I look at this blog as a kind of creative outlet for me that will someday make for some very interesting reading for myself if not anyone else.

The sub-title of the blog “When I Look at the World” is the title of a U2 song. I liked how it fit with my idea for this blog, to record what I see when looking at the world ( obviously staying away from religion and politics )  This wouldn’t be a tough feat for me anyways as I don’t pay any attention to the mainstream media since it’s all doom and gloom.

As for Jim Murphy there is nothing special at all that I can say about myself, except for the fact that I’m the proudest father in the world to three wonderful children, who will pop up all  over the place in this blog as I follow them around with my camera.  With that said, I guess I fit the mold of the “Average Joe”

Dad and I back in the 70's

There are barely any photo’s from my childhood, just a few as an infant and then there is this photo that I love of myself and my Dad.  When I look at it I can vividly remember that moment as our neighbor took that photo.  This photo for me is my memory of all those years all in one photograph.

They weren’t kidding when they said it’s tough getting old – I’m forgetting so much these days that it’s alarming.

The reason for this blog – I don’t want to forget anything else so it’s time to start capturing what I see when I look at the world
