I am an illustrator and yoga practitioner. I started my freelance illustration career in August of 2004 after working as an art director for an advertising agency in Indianapolis. Since then I have worked with a wide variety of clients worldwide and have been recognized by Communication Arts, Communication Arts Typography, 3×3 Magazine, Society of Illustrators LA and Print Magazine.
Less than a year into my freelance career, I founded IllustrationFriday.com along with my partner, programming genius Brianna Privett of Utopian.net. Illustration Friday is a weekly creative outlet/participatory art exhibit for illustrators and artists of all skill levels. It was designed to challenge participants creatively. We believe that every person has a little creative bone in their body, and Illustration Friday just gives a no-pressure, fun excuse to use it.
After a few years of doing almost solely illustration, another art form caught my eye: yoga. I studied under an amazing teacher, and she inspired me to keep pursuing it. So I enrolled in Prairie Yoga’s 200 Hour Training and became a certified teacher in March of 2011. I am not only interested in the physical aspects of the practice, but in how to integrate the philosophy of yoga into day to day living.
I recently moved to Raleigh, North Carolina with my husband Colin, 2 year old daughter Veda, dog Vince and two cats.
