BRAZEN HEARTS Archer Everett Drake, Lord Ramsdale, is an unrepentant rake who has just returned to London from family exile in the West Indies. He intends to pick up where he left off --racing his sailboat in the Thames and finding a new mistress. When he happens across Daphne, Lady Wetherell, a beautiful young widow with a notorious reputation, he sets out to pursue her, believing she'll be the perfect mistress. Little does he realize that appearances can be deceiving, and that he'll soon find his heart at risk! Her scandalous past and malicious gossip have pushed Daphne to the far edge of society now that she has no husband to protect her. However, she has a plan to redeem her ruined reputation, and becoming someone's mistress is no part of it. Keeping her stepson out of trouble is, but he soon falls into a coil that threatens all she holds dear. If she accepts Ramsdale's help, will he demand a price she's unwilling to pay? A seemingly innocent painting conceals a deadly secret that soon embroils them all in a race against time with life and love on the line. |

Romance novels celebrate the power of love in our world, something that is needed more than ever after the horrific events of Sept. 11, 2001. Cynics may try to rob us of our belief in love's awesome power to affect hearts and minds, but you and I know it is truth. They may be surprised by the outpouring of support and the many acts of selfless courage that have been the response to this event, but you and I are not. My heart goes out to everyone touched by this terrible tragedy. We stand united in sorrow and grief, but also in hope. Affirm love in everything you do today. Faith, courage and love will see us through. Gail Eastwood
