The 25-year-old entertainer performed Sting’s birthday gala in New York City on Saturday October 1. Gaga tweeted:
“Performed last night with my sweetie pie STING for his birthday! Sang one of my favorite songs of his ‘KING OF PAIN,’”
“What a beautiful evening with his family. Wish all monsters could have been there.”
When Lady Gaga called in to On Air With Ryan Seacrest a few days ago to promote her gig at tomorrow’s iHeartRadio Music Festival , she dropped a few monster-sized bombshells on the American Idol host. “All I will say is there may be a surprise duet with someone that is also performing,” Mother Monster noted. (Saturday’s lineup at the Vegas event includes, among others, Nicki Minaj, Usher and Jennifer Lopez, whose album Love? Gaga wrote songs for.) She also said she’s been working on her Born This Way follow-up.
“I’m actually already working on my next album,” said Gaga. “So I’ve been working on that. I’ve been planning the next tour. Which keeps me very excited and busy because I have lots of new ideas, and I know exactly how I want it to look. I’m also planning my next music video. I have lots of thing to do, but in truth, I feel like I’m the most alive when I’m on stage.”
For those keep track, Lady Gaga has released four singles off her current album, the most recent being “You And I.” One would assume that when she refers to her next music video, it’s for the fifth Born This Way single.
As for her big performance tomorrow night, which will close out the two-day iHeartRadio fest, The Lady told Seacrest,
“Well, I actually designed the stage especially just for this one performance. So it will never be used again. And I put a lot of time and thought into it. It’s really innovative and exciting. It’s going to be very fun.”
Lady Gaga will release a limited edition USB-drive of her multi-platinum album Born This Way (Streamline/KonLive/Interscope) on October 3. This will be the third LADY GAGA album to be featured as a limited edition USB-drive following the sold out The Fame and The Fame Monster albums.
The 2GB USB-drive will contain 1GB of content including the 17 track Born This Way, six remixes, music videos “Born This Way”, “Judas” and “The Edge Of Glory”, Gagavisions 41 – 44, a photo gallery and special feature for Little Monsters membership card holders.
President Obama joked last night about his meeting with the flamboyant singer Lady Gaga during a speech to a gay rights group.
Speaking to the Human Rights Campaign, Obama said:
“I appreciate the chance to join you tonight. I also took a trip out to California last week, where I held some productive bilateral talks with your leader, Lady Gaga.”
“She was wearing 16-inch heels,” Obama added. “She was eight feet tall.”
“It was a little intimidating.”
Lady Gaga, in the crowd, stood accept the accolade from the president.
As we reported last week, Gaga spoke with Obama about the issue of bullying, particularly of gay teens.
As he moved into his remarks on gay rights last night, Obama also paid tribute to another singer.
“I don’t want to give a long speech,” Obama said. “Cyndi Lauper is in the house. I can’t compete with that.”
