Rhenalt is the kind of DJ who is always looking to take things to the next level. While he had a good rep as a DJ in various clubs around the world, more recently he’s been putting in work making his own music. So when a house music legend like Todd Terry takes notice, clearly something is working!! Case in point, TT started up his new label, InHouse Records, and found himself feeling Rhenalt’s “The Gods” track to the point where he ended up doing TWO remixes! Available now at the best digital portals, check out the vid above to get a taste of what’s up!

While Japan is no longer the hot topic for many, the people are still reeling from the effects of the multiple disasters they’ve recently experienced. So the call to assist is still strong, and music journalist Yuko Asanuma has taken it upon herself to organize a digital music based effort to help people there, and let supporters hear some great music in the process! In her own words:
In response to the recent disaster in Japan, I have launched a new website called “SOUL AID: music for Japan”
It’s a simple platform to share music donated by artists along with their personal message for FREE.
Our main objective is to cheer up and give mental or spiritual support to Japanese music fans by delivering them sincere thoughts and music from some of their favourite artists.
Our secondary objective is to call members of the music community around the world for donation, to make a small financial contribution to the relief efforts for the most needed.
All proceeds will be donated to a Japanese emergency relief organization called Civic Force, who are currently operating in Kesennuma city.
Jeff Mills, Thomas Fehlmann, and others have participated in this and now UR’s Nomadico joins in with the never released full length version of his track, Kawak! Go to the site, get his track, support a good thing, and pat yourself on the back for contributing to folks who need the help!

Humberto Andres Hernandez, who music fans know as either “Andres” (his house music identity) or “DJ Dez” (his hip hop identity, NOT to be confused with DJ Dex!), has made his way to Japan this week, and after bringing his sounds to Tokyo and Nagoya, he’ll be swinging through Kanazawa and Osaka next weekend. Known for his sets with everyone from Slum Village Ozomatli to Erykah Badu to Common, he’s doing these Japanese sets solo with special support from local hot DJs. How can he be doing this, given the turmoil the country and, more importantly, the people are going through? How can he be playing music when stress, pain and fear are the order of the day?? Because if ever people needed some good times, it’s now!!

Check it out! The Regiment have linked up with HiPNOTT Records, Big Noise Radio and KevinNottingham.com to bring their new mixtape, Back To Lyrics, to the streets. The duo comprised of OSI and IseQold blasted into 2011 with their Apollo Brown-produced “Battle Cry”. Now The Regiment is taking it Back To Lyrics with a new mixtape that pays homage to some of hip hop’s greatest duos such as Twinz and Outkast.
The project is based around an interview The Regiment recently did with Big Noise Radio, broken into three parts. The rest of the mixtape includes 11 tracks of raw, unadulterated hip hop with OSI and IseQold going in hard over beats from Ghostface’s “Daytona 500″, Jay-Z’s “Dead Presidents”, and Big Pun & Fat Joe’s “Twinz (Deep Cover ‘98)”.
The Regiment will be accepting beats from producers from now through August, for a chance to be featured on the duo’s official HiPNOTT album release, The Panic Button, due out this fall.
