Culinary Travels with a writer who loves to cook and bake recipes from home & abroad; with a desire for eating local, seasonal, well sourced, ethical ingredients.
I have always had an interest in food; partly due to a few baking sessions with my mum (although I have to admit most were shop bought cake mixes), and an extremely enthusiastic Home Economics teacher. My Home Ec teacher had the reputation of being a dragon but beneath the hard exterior lay a soft centre, (a bit like a walnut whip if I equate her to food), a woman who provided you show some respect to ‘her’ subject would be willing to teach you all she knew and believe me she knew a great deal.
When I was 20 I had How to Be a Domestic Goddess: Baking and the Art of Comfort Cooking and How to Eat: Pleasures and Principles of Good Food (by Nigella Lawson) bought for me and from then on I just couldn’t do enough in the kitchen, for that I owe Nigella a lot. She has been inspirational.
Now I have a collection of around 200 recipe books and the collection is ever growing, my cupboards are bursting with ingredients and I just love to spend my free time pottering round the kitchen with a notepad and pen making little notes, adapting recipes and cooking.
I love food shopping, be it in real or virtual shops. It could in fact be argued very successfully that I have a dreadful ‘Amazon‘ habit.
Now that you’ve got to know me a little better why don’t you take yourselves off for a little wander around my site, I do hope you enjoy what you find. If you happen to see any content that you perhaps would like to feature on your own website, I kindly ask that you please contact me and ask my permission beforehand. Thank you

Congratulations on your inspiring site. I feel so tempted by your recipes but am much restricted by a need for low cholesterol recipes!

Hi Granny Anne, thanks for stopping by and thank you for the lovely comment. I’m sure there must be some low cholesterol recipes on here someplace, there’s a few lentil based recipes and soups that can be easily adapted if they’re not already low cholesterol and the breads should be ok too.

Hey!
I am writing you on behalf of www.BlogWithBlogs.com because we have reviewed your site and we believe it will be an ideal candidate for our network. Blog With Blogs is a revolutionary new concept in which with an installation of a widget on your website, we can increase your website traffic by 100%-250% per post you submit. This means that your monetization value will increase significantly due to the increase in traffic of this targeted audience. Please have a look at some of our current partners, www.www.jasonsbbqadventures.com and www.fussfreecooking.com . Sign-up is easy as well as installation and posting.
How is the traffic possible?
This system works because everyone in our network has the same widget that displays the recipes of everyone on our network. This means that traffic doesn’t only come from you for one day, it can come for years as your post will always remain in our system. Furthermore, the widget shares everyone’s traffic which in the ending gives you more traffic to your site than you give out. If you are unsure about this system, then give it a try for one month and if you are unhappy with the results you are free to leave, no questions ask, no obligations.
What can this traffic do for you?
It helps with your page-rank, audience and click through rate to your ads. All this means is that you will increase the monetization value of your website tremendously.
If you would like to learn more please check out out website and sign-up for free here: www.blogwithblogs.com/webmaster/signup
Courtesy of Quaker Oat,
For the launch of our new website we will be giving away a new 16G Apple Ipad to the most popular post from the month of October to November. As you can see our network is small now which means if you get started from now you can be soon carrying a brand new Ipad.
Happy Blogging and I look forward to working with you.
