Valentine’s Gifts for the Ones Who Love You Unconditionally

(Cooper City, Fla – February 10, 2012) You probably don’t want to give roses to Rover this Valentine’s Day, but you’d still like to show your pets what the true love in their life thinks of them.  Well, Leyda Hernandez, marketing and social media coordinator for Purebred Breeders LLC says, “Pets can sense that there’s a special holiday being celebrated around them, and they want to participate.  What better day to show your pet some extra pampering. “

And, you won’t be alone if you buy your pet a Valentine’s gift this year. The National Retail Federation expects consumers will spend $367 million on their pets for the holiday.  Ms. Hernandez of Purebred Breeders LLC says, “The best gifts are the ones your pet will enjoy playing with or eating that are not their normal treats.”

Purebred Breeders LLC has created this guide to make Valentine’s Day special for your favorite furry friend.

Gourmet treats are a great way to delight your dog.  Whether you are baking them yourself or buying them, remember to pay special attention to the ingredients.  Be aware of any possible allergies and remember that although chocolate is almost essential to our human Valentine’s Day treats, it is extremely toxic to dogs as it contains a chemical called theobromine.  An ounce of baking chocolate is enough to poison a 50-pound dog; look for recipes specific to dogs to ensure your dog will love his new treats and will be begging for more.

If you and your dog are more of the pampering type, visit a dog spa where you can spoil your doggy Valentine with some fabulous fun.  A new haircut can be make a huge improvement for a dog’s appearance and a massage can help them de-stress, relieve muscle tension and improve circulation.  Your dog will love the special treatment and will leave ready for Valentine’s Day with a new haircut, massage and can even get a pedicure and have their nails painted.

If you have children, you can try this fun activity with your family.  You can all press your hands and paws into non-toxic paint and press your prints onto a canvas that you can then frame and place in your home.  This Valentine’s Day gift will serve as a personal keepsake of your family’s bond, four-legged friends included.

Leyda Hernandez says, “Remember, your pet gives you unconditional love every day, why not return an extra measure of love this Valentine’s Day.”
