Valentine’s Gifts for the Ones Who Love You Unconditionally

(Cooper City, Fla – February 10, 2012) You probably don’t want to give roses to Rover this Valentine’s Day, but you’d still like to show your pets what the true love in their life thinks of them.  Well, Leyda Hernandez, marketing and social media coordinator for Purebred Breeders LLC says, “Pets can sense that there’s a special holiday being celebrated around them, and they want to participate.  What better day to show your pet some extra pampering. “

And, you won’t be alone if you buy your pet a Valentine’s gift this year. The National Retail Federation expects consumers will spend $367 million on their pets for the holiday.  Ms. Hernandez of Purebred Breeders LLC says, “The best gifts are the ones your pet will enjoy playing with or eating that are not their normal treats.”

Purebred Breeders LLC has created this guide to make Valentine’s Day special for your favorite furry friend.

Gourmet treats are a great way to delight your dog.  Whether you are baking them yourself or buying them, remember to pay special attention to the ingredients.  Be aware of any possible allergies and remember that although chocolate is almost essential to our human Valentine’s Day treats, it is extremely toxic to dogs as it contains a chemical called theobromine.  An ounce of baking chocolate is enough to poison a 50-pound dog; look for recipes specific to dogs to ensure your dog will love his new treats and will be begging for more.

If you and your dog are more of the pampering type, visit a dog spa where you can spoil your doggy Valentine with some fabulous fun.  A new haircut can be make a huge improvement for a dog’s appearance and a massage can help them de-stress, relieve muscle tension and improve circulation.  Your dog will love the special treatment and will leave ready for Valentine’s Day with a new haircut, massage and can even get a pedicure and have their nails painted.

If you have children, you can try this fun activity with your family.  You can all press your hands and paws into non-toxic paint and press your prints onto a canvas that you can then frame and place in your home.  This Valentine’s Day gift will serve as a personal keepsake of your family’s bond, four-legged friends included.

Leyda Hernandez says, “Remember, your pet gives you unconditional love every day, why not return an extra measure of love this Valentine’s Day.”

Purebred Breeders LLC loves dogs and we’re sure you do too!  People can become extremely attached to their pets and that is no exception for rich and famous owners, who have been known to leave large fortunes to their dogs after their passing.

spacer Known as the world’s richest pet and dog is Gunther IV, a German Shepherd.  The dog actually inherited the money from his father, Gunther III who was left a $124 million trust in 1992 when his owner, Countess Karlotta Lieberstein passed and he was left as the sole heir.  When Gunther III passed, the money was inherited by his son Gunther IV.  Talk about keeping it in the family!  The German Shepherd, Gunther IV, now owns a mansion in Miami previously owned by Madonna and is the owner of a rare white truffle bought at an auction.  Gunther IV has an estimated fortune of over $140 million.

Purebred Breeders LLC also found amongst the list of richest dogs are Oprah Winfrey’s, Drew Barrymore’s and a Jack Russell Terrier who played the role of ‘Eddie’ on the TV show Frasier.  Leona Helmsley, an American businesswoman and real estate entrepreneur, known as the ‘Queen of Mean’ even took her grandchildren out of her will and left her dog Trouble, a white toy Maltese Terrier, over $9 million.
