Palmetto Health's Mended Hearts chapter is the national organization's oldest chapter in South Carolina. It recently celebrated its 18th anniversary.

spacer Because Mended Hearts is made up of the very kinds of people it serves—heart patients, their families, and others impacted by heart disease—its members draw upon personal experience as they help others. Mended Hearts support groups help people understand that there can be a rich, rewarding life after heart disease. The group meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in 8 Medical Park, Suite 100.

Members listen, share their experiences, learn from healthcare professionals and volunteer to talk to other heart patients about what they may face including lifestyle changes, depression, recovery, and treatment.

Mended Hearts volunteers visit patients currently in the hospital to share their direct experiences about heart surgery, answer questions or discuss what to expect after surgery. We encourage any heart patients to get involved in Mended Hearts.
