Computer Weekly top female technology entrepreneur

spacer

The accolades just keep on pouring in for our client Sophie Cox of worldeka.com - a site we developed to bring together NGOs (non-governmental organisations), third sector organisations and policy makers to help them work together online.

In 2008 Worldeka was one of just 35 new companies chosen by the UK Government and Digital Mission to be taken to America and promoted as one of the best new websites created in Britain in 2008. In 2009 she numbered amongst The Next Women's 49 Most Notable Female Internet Heroes of 2009.

Her brother Charlie, co-founder of Worldeka, managed to get a look in when they were both listed on The Future 100, which recognises the top 100 young social entrepreneurs. And again they recently featured side by side on the Smarta 100 (a list of the UK's smartest and most disruptive businesses selected by a notable panel of industry experts).

And now to cap it all Computer Weekly lists Sophie amongst its top 50 female technology entrepreneurs. What can we say? Well done that woman (and that man!)- awesome vision, awesome site. We also hope that we've had just a teeny weeny bit to do with these awards and success having worked closely with Charlie and Sophie to develop their 'social network with a social conscience' from the outset.

The great team work makes it a 'we' rather than a 'yoo' or 'mee' thing. Long live collaboration, which is what Worldeka is all about :-).
