Jeff Jones Promoted To Detroit As Bullpen Coach - Britt Burns Will Be Toledo Pitching Coach In 2007
The Detroit Tigers have announced today that Toledo Pitching Coach Jeff Jones has been promoted to Detroit and will serve as the Bullpen Coach for the Tigers during the 2007 season.
Jones will take over for Lloyd McClendon who was named the new Hitting Coach for Detroit.

The Toledo Mud Hens are pleased to announce that two of the three members of the 2006 coaching staff will return for the 2007 season at Fifth Third Field. The Hens are coming off their second straight Governors Cup Championship season.
Manager Larry Parrish will return for his fifth season, Leon Durham will be back as Hitting Coach for the seventh straight year, and Britt Burns will be the new Pitching Coach for Toledo.

Josh Phelps Named To Topps Triple-A All-Star Team!
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.--The best performances in all Minor League Baseball classifications are again being honored by the Topps Company of New York, NY, in conjunction with Minor League Baseball.
Josh Phelps (28) of Trinity, Fla., took his role of designated hitter seriously for the Toledo Mud Hens. Phelps finished second in the IL with a .308 average and third with 24 homers and 90 RBIs. The Detroit Tigers signed him as a free agent in 2005.

2007 Toledo Mud Hens Schedule Announced - Back-To-Back Champs First Home Game Is April 13
The Back-to-Back International League Governors Cup Champions, the Toledo Mud Hens, have announced that their 2007 season schedule is complete.
The Mud Hens will open the 144-game season on the road at Louisville on Thursday, April 5. The first home game for the Hens will be on Friday, April 13 at 5:30 PM. The 2007 season will mark the 21st straight season as the Triple-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, as well as the sixth season of play at Fifth Third Field. The Hens are 209-151 (.581) at home in the five-year history of Fifth Third Field.

The Mud Hens completed their fifth season at Fifth Third Field in September with their second straight Governors Cup Championship. The 2006 attendance of 569,380 ranked Toledo 10th among the 200-plus teams in Minor League Baseball. The total also established a new Toledo single-season record, breaking the 2005 mark of 556,995.

A Look Back At The 2006 Governors' Cup Finals...
The International League Governors Cup was a down-and-dirty affair between two longstanding clubs that have shared laughingstock status in the IL: The Rochester Red Wings and the Toledo Mud Hens.
Success has largely eluded the Hens, whose last Governors Cup title was in 2005. Their closest shot was the first round of the 1980 playoffs, where they beat Rochester, but lost to the Columbus Clippers in the Cup finals. Prior to that, you had to go back to 1967 to find the Hens' name engraved on a Cup plaque.
