Hi, my name is Kelly. I’m often called Kels, Kel, Kelly Belly and/or Miss Road – whatever floats your boat is fine with me!
I was born sometime in 1985, which makes me 25 years young. I have a Mom and Dad, whom I currently live with, as well as an older sister and a brother-in-law. I am dating Andres and we are in a very long distance relationship, which I hope one day will become not so long distance.
I am currently a teacher for our local school board and have been since February, 2010. This year, I am covering a maternity leave and have really enjoyed teaching Kindergarten. I hope to land a full-time permanent teaching job soon! On weekends I work part-time as a Medical Receptionist at a local Walk-In Clinic. Yes… I am a workaholic.
I graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2008 after obtaining my Bachelor of Arts degree in Contemporary Studies (focusing on Children, Education and Development). I then went to the University of Windsor, where I graduated in 2009 with my Bachelor of Education degree. I am now constantly taking Additional Qualification courses from various Ontario Universities to make myself a better teacher!
I am passionate about children, education, human rights, being “green” and fair trade. I enjoy learning about World Issues and if I hadn’t of become a teacher I would have a career in something Human Rights related.
When I am not teaching, working at the clinic or doing course work, you will most likely find me reading, running, listening to music or soaking in the bathtub, which all help me to wind down from a long day.
