The California Black Chamber of Commerce & Chamber Foundation (CBCC/F) was established 15 years ago to help build the capacity of regional Black Chambers of Commerce and Business Associations throughout California. We are the largest state-wide African American non?profit business organization representing small and emerging businesses throughout the State of California. We provide advocacy, leadership training, technical assistance, support for supplier diversity issues, facilitates business development, and technical training for purposes of economic development and creating self?employment and wealth in Black communities.
The Chamber and Chamber Foundation run several programs. These programs include The African American Agenda which is a series of technical training; the Black Initiative for Self Sustainability (BLISS) designed to create sustainable African American businesses in blighted areas; the Green Initiative focused on clean technology and renewable energy; the Youth Entrepreneur Summit which teaches entrepreneurship training to young adults; Youth Scholarship providing college scholarships to at risk youth; and KDEE 97.5 FM low powered radio station broadcasting news and information in support of the Chambers other programs. KDEE is the only independently owned radio staion of its kind in the United States.
On Monday, Feb. 13, the California African American Political and Economic Institute (CAAPEI) at California State University, Dominguez Hills presented “Building Economically Sustainable Communities through Small Business Development,” a lecture by Aubry L. Stone, president/CEO of the California Black Chamber of Commerce and director of the California Black Chamber Foundation. The lecture took place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Loker Student Union.
