It's part of our family's heritage. Our love of the
land can be traced to our father, Neil and grandfather, Arnold, who
harvested his first crops of beans and alfalfa in 1930 on his ranch just
outside of Greenfield, California. |

Nearly three-quarters of a century later, we're still
farming the same ground that our Grandpa did and are broadening our land
base exponentially. The third generation is now taking the reins, with Neil enjoying retirement to his small vineyard after successfully managing the company for 35 years. Neil and our mother, Adrienne, remain close to the business, always available to provide invaluable wisdom and consultation when the need arises. During their tenure, Neil and Adrienne weathered all
the demons that threaten the agriculture industry. Floods, droughts,
freezes, heat waves, governmental regulations, labor shortages, pest and
disease epidemics, changes from field crops to fresh market crops, among
others. Their perseverance and strength allowed them to forge ahead. The
cumulative result was a thriving business that is being passed on to their
children. |

The first to join was Patrick, the second oldest son who was made a partner in 1993, after serving four years as a ranch manager. When Michael, the oldest son, and Mary Ann, the youngest child, became partners in 1995, Neil and Adrienne began to steadily step away from the business to pursue long overdue recreation and adventures. Allison, the eldest child, gained a partnership in 1996 and David, the third boy, entered the partnership in 2000. |
