Neil Bassetti Farms started working with Dole three years ago, growing iceburg lettuce for our Value Added plant. Their strong farming experience and desire to continue to improve has made Neil Bassetti Farms a very welcomed addition to our family of growers. They now grow iceburg lettuce, celery and broccoli for Dole and are our second largest celery grower because of their outstanding performance.

Because of our growing region in South Monterey County, our array of vegetables we grow ranges from the cool-loving iceberg lettuce and spinach to the heat-seeking garlic and peppers.

Our cool climate crops, which are harvested mainly in the months of March, April, May, June, September, October and November include a long list of vegetables. They are: iceberg lettuce, Romaine lettuce, mix leaf lettuce, spinach, celery, cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, asparagus, napa, bok choy, anise, rapini and parsley, among others.

Warm climate crops, which enjoy the area's rising temperatures in July and August, include: garlic, onions, bell peppers, anaheim peppers, specialty peppers, tomatoes, carrots, celery (it grows well in warmer regions also), seed beans and lima beans, among others.

We pride ourselves on being your custom grower. With a land base of 2,100 acres, we have the luxury of taking on large growing deals that supply vegetables on a daily and weekly basis, thus eliminating the hassle of contracting with a multitude of growers. We are able to deal with scheduling changes in most cases.
