When you meet someone, do you tell them all your secrets? This is the question Janet Mock grapples with in her forthcoming literary debut, Fish Food: A Memoir.

After falling for a man who calls her the woman of his dreams, Janet is forced to face a past she believes she’s left behind. Reaching back a decade, she travels back to her native Honolulu, where a little transgender girl, shrouded in painful secrets and unfulfilled dreams, struggles so Janet could thrive.

Fish Food, which is represented by The Fischer-Harbage Agency, is a coming of age story unlike any other that goes beyond the journey of transitioning genders and truly aims to transcend the body in an effort to answer what it really means to be your most authentic self.
