The Arts
Alongside sport in the huge number of opportunities available to pupils outside the classroom, King's College has a thriving artistic and cultural life. The corridors of the school are regular exhibition spaces for our pupils' artwork, and end of year exhibitions feature work of the very highest standard.
Four times now our design and technology department has won the Good Schools Guide A Level Award for Design and Technology, and our pupils regularly win prestigious Arkwright scholarships. The drama department puts on numerous productions throughout the year, from the experimental and innovative to the huge blockbuster on an epic scale. The 2009 production of Les Misérables was described as "the finest school production I have ever seen".
The music department has a full and busy schedule of rehearsals every week, leading to small-scale Octagon concerts for players of all abilities, and full orchestral concerts in the Chapel. In 2007 the chapel choir won the BBC Songs of Praise Senior School Choir of the Year, and Peter Oakley has just taken up his choral scholarship at King's College, Cambridge.
