The Foundation
The Dolomites are part of an area covering 5 different Italian
provinces: Trento, Belluno, Bolzano, Pordenone, Udine. These will
jointly manage the Dolomites, as UNESCOs world heritage, through the
constitution of a special foundation, the "Dolomiti - Dolomiten -
Dolomites - Dolomitis UNESCO Foundation", which will coordinate and
manage the conservation and enhancement policies.
The objectives and actions for the conservation and sustainable management of
the natural heritage of the Dolomites have already been identified. Attention
will focus on the governance of tourist flows, communication and
scientific research, to promote and protect the Dolomites and their
outstanding landscape, geographic and geological features.
