COL. BOB HOWARD PASSES AWAY
Greetings All,
A Great Ranger, and super individual. He was my Friend... It saddens me to know that he has passed on. I was aware of his passing on the day that he left us. You will notice in the Annual Groups, Group 13, for 2005, that we were inducted into the Ranger Hall of Fame together.
The evening before our Banquet and Induction the next day, just the two of us sat on the balcony of our quarters and reminisced about Vietnam and assignments and schooling on return to Stateside duty, for more than an hour. The morning that we checked out of the Fort Benning B.O.Q., we chatted for about 30-minutes and I did not believe at that time, that it would be the last.
There was, however, a little forbodeing in that departure, it was just not what I had expected especially since there was only just the three of us (another Hall of Fame inductee) and the person that checked us out, there at that time. We bid farewell and he left for Texas and I, for California . He is truly missed...

UNITED STATES ARMY BLACK AVIATION ASSOCIATION
Welcome Members and Friends of Aviation,
It is with great confidence and enthusiasm that I extend my heartfelt welcome to all who share our vision and mission objectives. Our focus is to continue the effort of educating our youth on Aviation as a career field.
We have several new initiatives for the coming year which include wellness seminars and Health Fairs in both Huntsville and Memphis. Partnerships have been formed with local social and civic organizations aiming to reach more members and participants and all levels. The Convention will be held in Memphis jointly with the Organization of Black Airline Professionals (OBAP) from August 4-7, 2010. Attendees can look forward to an inspiring week of business and education as we unite to help shape the future of our respective organizations. The most important part of next year’s convention is recognizing tireless efforts of those whose commitment remain constant while serving the ever changing needs of the aviation community.
With a struggling economy fueled by global economic changes, we have to stand together to ensure our future growth and survival. My appreciation extends to everyone involved in promoting opportunities for our youth. Your efforts honor our rich cultural heritage and help create an environment where hard working men and women can succeed and prosper.
Success is not a destination – it’s a journey - Optimism is powerful medicine!
