Alfred Toepfer Natural Heritage Scholarships
Each year the EUROPARC Federation in cooperation with the Alfred Toepfer Foundation F.V.S. awards three Alfred Toepfer Natural Heritage Scholarships to promising young conservationists with practical experience in the field of conservation and in the work of protected areas. The scholarships were formally known as the European Travel Scholarship and were awarded for the first time in
By supporting the participants financially the scholarships enable them to undertake a study visit to one or more protected areas in European countries other than their own. The aim being to enhance international cooperation and to advance the quality, innovation and European dimension of protected area management. The awards will each be worth EUR 3.000 and are generously donated by the Alfred Toepfer Foundation in Hamburg (D). They are presented to the scholarship winners each year at the annual EUROPARC conference.
Nature Scholarships for Young European Conservationists now open
The Alfred Toepfer Natural Heritage Scholarships 2012 are now open for applications! The award provides three young European conservationists with €3000 to undertake a study visit to one or more protected areas in European countries other than their own. They are awarded by the Alfred Toepfer Foundation and the EUROPARC Federation. The deadline for applications is Friday May 11th 2012.
Applicants must be under 35, of European nationality and themes for applications must be connected to the management of natural areas. Some guidelines to what these should be are provided in the download box to the right of this page. Applicants should only apply using the online form available.
The Scholarships will be awarded at the annual EUROPARC Conference, which will be held in Genk, Belgium from 22nd – 25th October 2012.
