About GlobalWarming.com

Overview:
Globalwarming.com is a self-funded organization that relies solely on the contributions we receive from private and corporate partners to carry our our objectives as stated below. Without these contributions, our efforts and this site would not be possible.

Mission:
Globalwarming.com has two primary objectives. The first objective is to be a valued source of information for people seeking to learn more about global warming and climate change. We believe that education is the key to understanding how changes in our climate system might impact our lives and the lives of future generations. With so much data already existing and so much more to be understood, this site will be a central location where our readers can find the information they seek. This will include information regarding scientific research, proposed policy changes, and the possible solutions and products that have the potential to help us live better lives while consuming more responsibly.

Our second objective is to challenge and engage the public to get involved with initiatives that will produce a positive impact in their local communities or organizations. State and local governments, large and small businesses, universities, and both private and public school systems are already creating and implementing sustainability programs. These programs include plans to incorporate cleaner energy sources, recycle or use products made from recycling, changes in transportation systems, energy efficient lighting, etc. We plan to be involved and make contributions where we can. Our efforts will include helping schools and communities with fund raising goals in support of their sustainability initiatives.

Thank you, GlobalWarming.com

Founder and President: Rod Browning

Rod Browning purchased globalwarming.com in 2008. At that time, Rod thought the name would be a good future investment for his family. This turned out to be true as within a few short months after buying the domain name, he was offered a substantial profit to sell. Regardless of the potential profit, Rod felt compelled to keep the domain. After doing his own research on global warming and climate change, he decided to create an organization and web site to help educate others about what might be one of the biggest challenges that mankind will face over the next century, that being the effects of long term global warming.

Rod currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife Stacy and their two children. Stacy is also one of the contributing researchers and writers for globalwarming.com. Having two children influenced Rod and Stacy’s decision to get involved and to create something that they truly hope will spark environmental improvement. Realizing their own children will have to live with the outcome of the decisions made today was an overwhelming thought. They decided they couldn’t just sit back and watch the Earth’s health denigrate, especially when they own an internet venue very capable of improving the situation.

A note from Rod Browning:

Dear visitor-

Regardless of your position or beliefs about the science behind global warming, I would hope that we could all agree that being better care-takers for this planet should become a bigger priority. We simply cannot continue to consume natural resources at our current levels without severe and lasting consequences. While building cleaner coal and oil burning plants may be an important part of our future, we certainly cannot rely on this alone for our long term strategy. Using data from the United States Energy Information Administration, analysts predict coal reserves will last somewhere between 50 and just over 100 years, assuming consumption rates remain unchanged. With coal consumption increasing in countries like China and India, most analysts believe we are likely closer to fifty years versus the longer projection. With oil, the issues extend far beyond the actual amount of oil reserves available for recovery and use. Any nation relying heavily on foreign oil imports sits in a very precarious position given the uncertainty regarding the world’s peak oil reserves. While the timing of this event is heavily debated, most analysts agree we likely will not know we have reached peak oil reserves until we have well exceeded that point, and the resulting economic projections are bleak at best.

Every challenge provides an opportunity. Researching and exploring new technologies is imperative. Finding clean and sustainable energy sources should be important to us all. Creating and developing new technologies that will provide future generations with the quality of life they deserve is not just a goal, it is our responsibility.

There is a great deal of work ahead and I commend the individuals and organizations that are taking measures to create a more sustainable future. Education is a key component of our approach to raise awareness and ignite change. Our plan is to get involved with the education of communities on many different levels. One of our goals for globalwarming.com is to promote the individuals and organizations that are creating positive change. I know of many great companies and organizations that are rising to the challenge, we plan to acknowledge and support those groups and individuals.

Our hope is that you find something on globalwarming.com that will prompt you to do your own research, just as I did before starting this journey. I caution you to carefully review the facts and validate what you read. There is plenty of misinformation out there from all view points. Do your own research and find the truth that resonates for you.

Very truly yours,
Rodney L. Browning
