The ROOT Exchange
dear user,
welcome to root, a service to help you to put your web data to use.
the name root is fundamental to the history of unix, which is the internet's operating system.
according to wikipedia, root is the "name of the user who has all rights or permissions in all modes (single- or multi-user)."
our goal is to give you root access to your own information.
this is the first sevice based on the principles of attentiontrust.org; that you own your web data.
currently we offer root vaults which you can use to record, edit, and/or publish your clickstream activity, which includes a full history of every web page you have seen and every search you have performed.
root views are windows into the browsing activity of others who trust you to to watch what they are watching.
these exist now as root widgets for the web.
soon, the root client will give mac users a local window for watching other people's watching.
someday, you will be able to connect your clickstream to the root exchange for sale to lenders.
for now, however, the benefit is purely personal and social.
