Tristan J Tarwater is currently working on the final edits of her second book ‘Self-Made Scoundrel’ and regularly writes side stories and pieces of fiction for her own amusement. Her work can also be found at Troll in the Corner where she writes the columns ‘Reality Makes the Best Fantasy’ and ‘Movie Reviews for Gamers,’ as well as the the transcripts for the NSFW webcomic, ‘Dissident Priest.’ In addition she is the founder of Indie Office Party. She currently lives in Central California with her Admin, Small Boss, a cat that knows it’s a multipass and Azrael.

About Back That Elf Up

Back That Elf Up started in 2008 as a place to store (‘back up’) the stories I had accumulated about a gaming character. Over the course of three years it came to house over 200,000 words about Tavera, Derk and various other people and locations in the newest world I had created. When the chronicle of Tavera came to an end we kind of sat on it for a while, wondering what to do with it before we decided going the way of the indie publisher was the right fit for us. The site that you are at now was created earlier this year as a new and improved domicile for our stories and ideas. It’s less of a storage space now but it is still filled with elves.

Back That Elf Up supports Open Source and Creative Commons. All of our digital books are DRM free and all the work currently out is under Creative Commons CC-BY-NC-SA 3.0 and we don’t see that ever changing. Open Source software was used to write damn near everything and create our ads, covers, and ebooks. We also believe in supporting the many talented people out there and have been really lucky to work with many amazing artists, writers, editors and creators. We love the community of creative folks we have stumbled into and love contributing to this great microcosm of work that people love to create.

Getting ‘Thieves at Heart’ and Back That Elf Up out there has been a real learning process for all of us here and we’re more than happy to have you reap the rewards of our hard work. We look forward to bringing you more fantasy and more entertainment in the future.

Thank you from Tristan J Tarwater and all of us here at Back That Elf Up!

About Indie Office

Indie Office was first started in December of 2011 as the Indie Holiday Office Party. It was basically a tweetchat for indie creators of all disciplines to get together and just hang out in lieu of not having an office party to attend. People had so much fun that it was requested that we party again. After the second ‘party’ in January it was basically agreed upon that we needed something else, something a bit more permanent for us as well as all the other indie creators out there. And thus Indie Office was born.

Indie Office is meant to be a kind of ‘online office and water cooler’ for indie creators, freelancers and self-employed people the world over. Writers, editors, comic book creators, artists, RPG designers and more are all welcome. Whether you’ve been doing it ‘on your own’ for 5 days or 5 lifetimes, you are welcome to read, share and know that other people are doing this as well.
