We all vaguely realize that the mercator projection isn't really correctly displaying the relative size of continents. The map below lets you drag the center of projection and shows how much of a difference things actually make.
You can set an explicit rotation using the controls below or you can click the map to get a random value. The rotation gets stored in the hash tags of the page for easier sharing if you hit on something interesting.
It doesn't always seem to quite work, but I am fed up with the math.
