  • Truman State University has been recognized, once again, as the No. 1 Public University in the Midwest Region by U.S. News & World Report's 2012 edition of "America's Best Colleges." This recognition marks the 15th year Truman has been awarded this top ranking.

  • Truman is ranked No. 8 overall in the Midwest region among both private and public institutions.

  • Truman State University is the nation's No. 2 best value in the public sector according to the Princeton Review. The New York-based education services company features the school on its "Top 10 Best Value Public Colleges" ranking list and profiles the school in the 2008 edition of its book, "America's Best Value Colleges."

  • Truman was ranked No. 23 by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine on their list of top "100 Best Values in Public Colleges.” Truman was the top-ranked Missouri school and was the only school from the state to be listed in the top 75.  Kiplinger’s assesses quality and affordability according to a number of measurable standards such as the percentage of students who return for the sophomore year and the four-year graduation rate.Truman is also ranked as the 14th best educational value for out-of-state students.
    “As states cut funding for higher education and tuition continues to climb, the word “value” becomes more significant than ever,” said Jane Bennett Clark, senior editor at Kiplinger’s Personal Finance. “This year’s top 100 public schools deliver strong academics at reasonable prices. We applaud these institutions for tightening their belts without compromising quality.”

  • Truman State University, Missouri's only public liberal arts college, attracts over-achievers from across the Show-Me-State.

    — The Fiske Guide to Colleges, 2011 Edition
  • Truman State University has made its first appearance in the Peace Corps annual rankings of schools producing volunteers for the organization. Truman ranks 25th on their list of medium-sized schools producing Peace Corps Volunteers. Truman has 20 alumni currently serving as Peace Corps Volunteers. Other schools listed in the top 25 include University of Virginia, Georgetown University, Washington University in St. Louis, University of Notre Dame, Brown University and Yale.

  • Truman is one of the country's best institutions for undergraduate education, according to The Princeton Review's 2011 edition of its annual college guide, "The Best 373 Colleges".

  • Listed 3rd among master's universities nationwide based upon the institution's contributions to the public good, with student service as one of three criteria.  Truman was the only Missouri school ranked in the top 50 and was the No. 1 public school on the list.

  • Truman's accounting students ranked in the top 20 in the nation for six of the past eight years for students passing all four parts of the Uniform CPA examination on the first attempt.  During this period, Truman graduates ranked in the top 10 four times.
