Moyer, Bellinger surge to final victories at UNOH DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Summit

BARBERVILLE, Fla. — Feb. 25, 2012 — Billy Moyer and Rob Bellinger capped off the two-week UNOH DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Summit Racing Equipment on Saturday night at Volusia Speedway Park by winning thrilling World of Outlaws Late Model Series and Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modified events.

Moyer, of Batesville, Ark., surged past Don O’Neal and Shane Clanton in a three-car battle for the lead on Lap 32 then held them off over the final 18 laps to capture the $10,000 checkered flag. It was Moyer’s second victory of the UNOH DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Summit.

BARBERVILLE, FL – Feb. 25, 2012 – Billy Moyer of Batesville, Ark., capped the 41^st UNOH DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Summit Racing Equipment with a stirring victory in Saturday night’s 50-lap World of Outlaws Late Model Series A-Main at Volusia Speedway Park.

The 54-year-old dirt Late Model legend grabbed the lead in memorable fashion on lap 32, bursting past Shane Clanton of Fayetteville, Ga., and Don O’Neal of Martinsville, Ind., with a power move down the inside of the backstretch. He then turned back a brief late-race challenge from O’Neal en route to collecting the race’s $10,000 top prize.

Moyer became the lone two-time winner during the six-race Late Model portion of the 2012 UNOH DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Summit. He also won Tuesday night’s 30-lap DIRTcar UMP-sanctioned feature.

Rob Bellinger outlasted a handful of drivers, including a hard-charging Matt Sheppard, to claim the 50-lap Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modified main event in front of a packed crowd at Volusia Speedway Park on a chilly Saturday night.
