Risk and Vulnerability
Training and Outreach
Research and Innovation
Partnerships

Risk and Vulnerability
The Risk and Vulnerability stream supports the Government of Indonesia to better understand the risk of natural hazards in Indonesia and the region. This is done by facilitating partnerships between Australian and Indonesian scientific expertise to develop and demonstrate risk assessment methods, tools and information for a range of natural hazards including earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, floods and landslides.

Training and Outreach
The Training and Outreach program supports the Government of Indonesia to better prepare for, mitigate and manage its natural hazard risks. This is done by working with BNPB to develop, standardise and deliver training materials to help build the capacity of national and sub-national governments to manage disaster risks. In addition, this Program will develop a range of educational and awareness raising materials to promote disaster risk reduction across Indonesia and the region.

Research and Innovation
The Research and Innovation Program will foster and promote a stronger culture of disaster risk reduction research in Indonesia and the region, as well as support linkages between community and government at all levels. This program will support Indonesia and the Asia region to better address gaps in disaster management knowledge and build a body of relevant, locally produced work on Indonesian and Asian disaster management priorities.

Partnerships
The Partnerships Program will foster stronger links between disaster risk reduction partners in Indonesia and the Region. In Indonesia, the partnerships program will look to identify ways to better link levels of government to each other and to strategic disaster risk reduction partners. Regionally, the partnerships program will support Indonesia’s contribution to regional efforts aimed at reducing the impact of disasters.
