Cancellation of the IAWCA 2012 Night Tracer Fun Shoot

The 2012 Night Tracer Fun Shoot was cancelled due to fire concerns. The unusual weather this winter, specifically lack of snowfall, contributed to very dry conditions and a fire danger. We discovered this after a small grass fire was started from a single .223 tracer round during our informal afternoon shoot. This fire was extinguished and a decision was made at that point to cancel and possibly re-schedule the event if and when conditions improved. To go ahead with the nighttime portion of the tracer shoot would have been too risky and in these types of situations we have a duty to err on the side of caution.

We apologize for the inconvenience this caused some people and, of course, there was disappointment as a result of our decision.  But we also thank all those involved for understanding that this was the responsible thing to do.
