YOUTH PASS

2011-2012 youth pass

Marin Transit offers a six month or annual youth pass that is distributed through participating Marin County schools. With a Youth Pass, registered Marin County students and youth age 18 and under are able to ride on local routes in Marin (excluding the Golden Gate corridor service and any regional or express routes such as the 10/70/80/101 lines) without paying any additional fare during six-month periods.

Marin Transit offers the Youth Pass in six-month increments during the Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer periods. The 2011-2012 Fall/Winter Pass will be valid from Monday, August 1, 2011 through Monday, February 29, 2012. The 2012 Spring/Summer Pass will be valid from Tuesday, March 1, 2012 through Tuesday, July 31, 2012. To participate in this program, students must have a photo ID.

The Youth Pass costs $175 per six-month period or $325 for a year. Considering that the regular individual youth fare is $1 per ride, the purchase of the Youth Transit Pass could amount to considerable cost savings as well as convenience for frequent youth riders. Students from income-qualified household may be eligible for free Youth Passes. To determine if you qualify, download the Parent/Guardian Certification for Eligibility for Free Youth Pass form below.

Youth wishing to purchase a pass should contact their school administrators. Youth must have a photo ID and be age 18 or under. Youth who do not attend a participating school may obtain a youth pass by contacting Marin Transit at (415) 226-0862.
