There is a moderate risk for severe weather across portions of the Plains. Below are the risk maps.

   

Large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes will all be possible with storms that develop in this area. In addition, heavy rain and flooding are also likely for much of this area. Precipitable water values near an inch and a half and strong low level convergence will be responsible for the heavy rain potential. The main storm system itself won’t move very fast and will also contribute to the flooding potential. Today would be a day to remain weather aware as the storms will quickly intensify when they develop.
