Located in Atlanta, Georgia Aquarium is set to open on November 23, officially becoming the world's largest aquarium. The aquarium has an amazing 100,000 animals from 500 species, and 8 million gallons of fresh and marine water.
Besides in Asia, Georgia Aquarium will be the only aquarium with whale sharks on display. These two juvenile whale sharks alone occupies a monstrous 20-million-litre tank.
A visit to this gigantic aquarium would not come cheap. For a family of five, a one-day general admission is expected to cost over $115. But the novelty of getting a glimpse of the world's largest fish is well worth the ticket price.

Under a new bylaw passed by the city council, fish bowls are now banned in Rome. They must've agreed with what our Fish Bowls, Instruments of Torture said! Fairgrounds are no longer allowed to give out goldfishes or any other animals as prizes as well.
This is great, I'm sure many people bought fish bowls without knowing just how bad it is. A ban like this will save many fishes from ill-treatment.
And along with the fish bowl ban is the new rule that people in Rome has to walk their dogs regularly, or face fines of between €50 and €500.

The world's first autonomous robotic fish are the latest attraction at the London Aquarium.
Biologically inspired by the common carp, the new
designs can avoid objects and swim around a specially designed tank
entirely of their own accord.
"This one is more life-like - it mimics normal swimming
and sharp turning," he explained. "People get confused and think it's a
real fish."
Take a look at some videos of the fish in action.

Killifish Help Scientists Study Aging
|
Tuesday, 20 September 2005 |
Practical Fishkeeping has reported that scientists are using killifish
from the Nothobranchius genus to study the effects of aging. One
particular killifish species, N. furzeri, has been singled out as being
best-suited for this purpose, as it has a typical lifespan
of only three months. I hope killifish lovers don't get too upset by
this. |
