We're going to take a short break and then start working on planning for ConnectiCon 2007 which will be July 13-15 =)

We'll be refreshing the website with new info, reading the forums & emails we get about the good and the bad, then we'll bring them to our next staff meeting. If you're interested in attending send Vice Chair Briana Benn or Chairman Mathew Daigle an email and we'll let you know when and where the meeting will be.

Again thank you for participating and hopefully you'll all be able to participate again next year,

Hotel Information Announced

Thursday 06/01/2006 05:30:09 PM - by: thehappyguy

we can finally announce the official Headquarters Hotel for ConnectiCon 2006 - we've managed to negotiate an AMAZINGLY low group rate at the:

Hartford Marriott Downtown

This is the hotel that is attached along the exhibit level to the convention center, so you won't have to walk 15 minutes to the nearest hotel, or wait for the downtown shuttle service.

It is of great importance that ConnectiCon members stay at our official Headquarters Hotel so that we may book a larger room block in future years as well as receive function space for additional events at the hotel.

The rates for rooms this year are $109/night for single and double occupancy; $129/night for triple and quad occupancy. Rooms MUST be reserved by June 15th, 2006 - after that date any rooms available will be booked at the prevailing rate which is currently $249/night. Room bookings will also require a non-refundable deposit for the first night of your stay. You can visit the hotel website HERE. To get the convention discount rate enter code: CONCONA - alternately you can call 1-860-249-8000 and ask for the ConnectiCon room block.

There are also an EXTREMELY limited amount of rooms available at the Residence Inn by Marriott @ $119/night but that rate includes a complimentary breakfast buffett. You can call the Residence Inn by Marriot @ (860)524-5550 the group code is CON and you will have to speak with Kristi Herr to book your room.

Contest Winners!

Tuesday 05/23/2006 08:47:53 PM - by: Starflower

The contests get harder and harder to judge each year as more and more high quality submissions are received here at CTCon headquarters. It is an honor to be one of the votes that gets to choose this year's artwork, and it's so neat to see improvement in the work of the artists that keep sending submissions. It was harder than ever this year, but we have arrived at a verdict for all of our pre-con contests. The votes were tallied by secret ballot form all the ConnevtiCon staff. The winners are listed below, and if you didn't win, you may still see your art in print in the program book or elsewhere around the convention. Congratulations to the winners, and to those who didn't win, don't give up- this year's winners were BOTH entrants into last year's contest as well!

Tee Shirt Art Contest- Kristin Palach, who is awarded two complimentary memberships to ConnectiCon 2006, and a FULL artist colony table (2 spots)

Cover Art Contest- Shawnti Therrien, who is awarded two complimentary memberships to ConnectiCon 2006, and a FULL artist colony table (2 spots)

Fanfiction Contest- Rob Whelehan, who is awarded two complimentary memberships to ConnectiCon 2006

Congratulations, again!
