Our 50 Mile Ride events have been successful because of the groundswell of support from riders, their friends and family, and local OC bike shops. 2: Volunteer to help

This is a 100% volunteer-coordinated ride. To pull off this event we really need your help. If you or a friend are interested in volunteering BEFORE, DURING, or AFTER the ride, please CLICK HERE to learn about our volunteer opportunities. If you only have a few hours, we’ll take it!  Thanks in advance for helping to make this another world-class event!

3: Donate supplies or raffle prizes

50 Mile Ride for Project Rwanda is a fund raising event. Your generous contributions will be put to great use to help support Project Rwanda’s efforts. In addition to cash, product sponsorships appropriate for our event will also be welcomed. Here’s some examples of what we could use:

• Water and/or sports drinks for riders
• Energy bars, gels, trail snacks for riders
• Raffle prize items (bike gear, apparel, gift certificates, sports/music tickets, vacation/travel vouchers, gift baskets, etc.)
• First aid kits, 2 way radios, traffic cones or flags for support team

New this year!  We’ve designed our very own 50 Mile Ride commemorative jersey.  It’s an Italian-made original from our friends at DNA Cycling.  Features include Air Max Fabric/100% poly micro blend, full front zipper, 3 back pockets, silicon side and back gripper, club-fit sizing.  Get all your riding buddies outfitted.  You’ll look great while you support a great cause!  $75 each – ORDER YOURS HERE.  You can also order a jersey when you register online.  NOTE:  Orders received before February 18 will arrive before our event and will be included in your rider bag at check-in.  Orders after February 18 will arrive after our event and we’ll coordinate will-call or shipping with you.

6: Collect pledges

Use our cool ONLINE PLEDGE TOOL to create your very own web page.  Invite your family, friends, and co-workers to sponsor you for every mile you complete.  CLICK HERE if you’d like sample copy to use when setting up your own page.  If you’d rather go “old school”, we have a PRINTED PLEDGE FORM you can use to collect pledges face-to-face. Please bring the completed form along with your collected donations when you check in.  We also have an email template available as an Outlook Template or Word Document you can use to send to your family and friends.

BONUS TIP: Get your employer, your favorite bike shop (or just about any company you have a relationship with) to match your pledges!

REWARD: Collect at least $250 in pledges before the event, and be eligible for a special prize drawing at our event!
